Racing tyres usually a a limited grip at low temperatures, and their full grip and damping performance is only available at temperatures above approx. 70° Celsius. It is difficult to warm up the tyre properly by driving warm, as the tyre heats up very strongly on the surface first, which leads to increased wear and overheating of the upper tyre layers, which causes them to harden and thus reduces grip.
Tyre warmers provide a remedy here, by evenly heating the tyres to approx. 70-80° C, they not only reduce wear, but also provide full grip from the first corner. Spins or slips caused by cold tyres are now a thing of the past.
