The CARTEK OBD Shift Light is a compact and fully programmable shift warning light designed for motorsport, trackday and performance vehicles equipped with a compatible OBD2 connection. It provides the driver with a clear visual indication of the optimum time to change gear, helping to maintain focus on the track and make the most of the engine's available performance.

Installation is quick and straightforward. The supplied 1.5 m OBD2 cable connects the Shift Light directly to the vehicle. With compatible vehicles, no additional RPM signal wiring is required.

The lower and upper RPM settings can be configured either with the engine running or with the engine switched off. When setting the unit with the engine running, the engine only needs to be revved to approximately 50% of maximum RPM. Alternatively, the required RPM values can be entered manually using the push button located on the rear of the Shift Light.

Fully programmable LED shift indication

The CARTEK Shift Light can be adapted to the driver's individual preferences and the conditions on track. Daytime and nighttime LED brightness can be configured separately, while six different shift light patterns are available.

The LED sequence can be configured as either a linear or converging display, allowing the driver to choose the indication that is easiest to recognise during high-speed driving.

Additional alarm function

The Shift Light also features an integrated alarm function. When connected to a compatible sensor, data logging system or dashboard alarm output, it can be used to alert the driver to potential engine problems such as high engine temperature or low oil pressure.

This makes the CARTEK Shift Light more than just a conventional RPM indicator: it can also provide an additional visual warning function for motorsport applications.
