On the racetrack, the right shift point can make a significant difference. The CARTEK Shift Light Club gives the driver an immediate and highly visible indication of approaching engine speed limits.
The unit features 8 multi-colour LEDs which build up a visual sequence as engine RPM increases. The sequence starts before the optimum shift point and finishes at the programmed target RPM, giving the driver an early warning to shift before reaching the rev limiter.
The lower and upper RPM settings can be configured with or without the engine running. When configuring the unit with the engine running, the engine only needs to be brought to approximately 50% of maximum RPM. Alternatively, RPM values can be entered manually using the push button on the rear of the Shift Light.
Six selectable shift-light patterns
The display can be configured to suit the driver's personal preference and the conditions inside the vehicle.

Integrated engine alarm function
The CARTEK Shift Light Club also includes an additional alarm function. When connected to a compatible sensor, data logging system or dashboard alarm output, the unit can provide a visual warning of engine-related problems such as overheating or low oil pressure.
This makes the unit more than a conventional shift indicator and provides an additional visual warning function for demanding motorsport applications.
Flexible RPM signal compatibility
The Shift Light Club requires a suitable engine speed signal. Compatible inputs can include an RPM output from an ECU using a 5 V or 12 V square-wave signal, a tachometer signal or a suitable ignition coil signal. The manufacturer states that the unit is not suitable for older CDI ignition systems.
The fully potted PA 2200 Nylon housing is IP64 rated and designed for demanding environments. The unit measures approximately 75 × 29 × 17.7 mm and weighs only 55 g. Operating voltage is 7–18 V.
