Setrab PRO LINE SLM – compact oil cooler for demanding motorsport applications
When high loads need to be managed continuously, a reliable oil temperature is crucial. The Setrab PRO LINE SLM oil cooler has been specially developed for applications where a high-performance yet space-saving cooling solution is required. The slimline design makes this aluminium oil cooler particularly suitable for racing cars, track tools, performance vehicles and motorbikes with limited installation space.
Setrab PRO LINE SLM oil coolers are used, amongst other things, to cool gearbox oil, differential oil or rear-axle oil, and motorbike oil. The SLM series may also provide a suitable solution for other oil and fluid circuits. Setrab itself explicitly describes the SLM series as coolers suitable for gearboxes, rear axles and motorbikes in applications with limited installation space.
A key advantage of the Setrab SLM oil coolers is their shallow depth. The heat sink has a core depth of 31 mm, whilst the overall depth of the Proline SLM design is 40 mm. This means the cooler can be fitted even where there is very little space available for a conventional oil cooler.
In racing cars in particular, installation locations are often restricted by the bodywork, chassis, exhaust system or other components. The slim SLM design offers additional options here when planning the oil circuit.
The cooler’s connections feature M22x1.5 internal threads. With the appropriate adaptors, the oil cooler can be adapted to different hose and pipe systems. This allows the Setrab SLM to be flexibly integrated into existing or custom-built motorsport oil systems.
