Balance Bars
Balance bars are a key component of modern motorsport braking systems and are essential for achieving precise and finely adjustable brake bias in dual-circuit brake systems. They allow the braking force generated by the pedal to be distributed accurately between two master cylinders, ensuring optimal balance for vehicle setup, track conditions, and driving style.
The basic brake balance is defined by selecting different master cylinder bore sizes. The balance bar then provides fine adjustment, varying the pedal leverage and distributing pressure individually between the two circuits. This enables exact tuning of front-to-rear brake bias – a critical factor for performance and safety in racing applications.
In competitive motorsport, balance bars offer a major advantage thanks to their quick and precise adjustability. Using a detented adjustment knob, brake bias can be changed rapidly to suit evolving track grip, weather conditions, or fuel load, delivering consistent braking performance and improved driver confidence.
Our balance bars are for race cars, track day vehicles, historic motorsport applications, and professional pedal box systems.
